IMPORTANT: Backup any existing design files prior to upgrading in case you want to go back to the prior version.
IMPORTANT: If your current version is below 1.7.14, uninstall it before installing this new version.
Note that this version can open design files created by earlier versions of pad2pad. But version 1.8.1 and older cannot open design files created with this new version.

For circuit design software to go along with the Pad2Pad layout software,
get Capilano Computing's 'DesignWorks Express'. This free design package supports up to
500 netlist nodes and is ideal for Pad2Pad users with small to moderate complexity needs.

1. Locate the downloaded setup file "p2psetup184.exe" and execute the file to begin the installation process.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
System Requirements for Pad2Pad
- Windows 98/ME/2000/XP,Vista
- Pentium 233 MHz or higher
- 128 Mb RAM
- 20 Mb of free disk space
- DirectX 7.0 or higher (if needed download the latest version of DirectX)
The steps above also work for upgrading. Your data will be retained.
Do not first uninstall the prior version (if you do you will lose custom settings).
To uninstall the Pad2Pad application, in Control Panel choose Add/Remove Programs. In the list of installed programs, select Pad2Pad and click Remove or Uninstall.
