There are two types of footprints: footprints that are stored internally in pad2pad's footprint library special file and PCB footprints that are stored in regular PCB files on disk.
You can convert a PCB footprint to a group.
To convert a PCB footprint to a group: - Select the footprint you want to convert.
- Click the right mouse button to open the context menu.
- Choose Convert to group.
You can also convert a group of objects into a footprint.
To convert a group into a footprint: - Select the group of objects you want to convert.
- Click the right mouse button to open the context menu.
- Choose Convert to Footprint.
You can ungroup an internally stored footprint:
To ungroup an internally stored footprint: - Select the footprint.
- Choose Edit | Ungroup.
